Ford made quite a few changes to the Explorer for 2020, bringing you a better-than-ever SUV for our Negaunee area drivers. One of the most notable improvements is the new platform that improves not only ride quality, but interior space as well. You'll have a larger interior with more space for your people and your stuff, so you'll love how comfortable this SUV is all around Michigan.
Features & Technology
Get inside the 2020 Ford Explorer, and you can stretch out in comfort with ample head- and legroom. It comes with cloth upholstery, but leather is available, as is a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel. People in the Marquette and Gwinn areas who like to travel heavy will appreciate all the room the Explorer has to put things. It has one of the largest cargo holds in its class, with 81.7 cubic feet of space when the back seats are folded. A power-folding third-row seat and a hands-free liftgate are available for easy loading and versatility.
The new Explorer comes in five trim levels (Base, XLT, Limited, Sport, and Platinum) to give you a lot of options to choose from. Standard amenities include an infotainment system with the SYNC infotainment interface, a 4.2-inch color display, voice commands, and Bluetooth. Optional features include a twin-panel moonroof, proximity key entry, push-button start, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and navigation.

Performance & Capability
The 2020 Ford Explorer offers lively acceleration for getting around on your daily commute. Plus, the new Ford Explorer comes equipped with the new platform It comes standard with a 300-horsepower turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine. Your other engine options include a 365-horsepower twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6, a 400-horsepower V6, and a 3.3-liter V6 hybrid that is paired to a single 44-horsepower electric motor.
Drivers in the Ishpeming and Negaunee areas who do a lot of towing will like that the new Explorer can tow up to 5,600 pounds when properly equipped. Front-wheel drive is standard on the Explorer, but four-wheel drive is available. Four settings are available in the Explorer's Terrain Management System (Mud, Sand, Gravel, and Grass or Snow) that you can switch from on the fly for optimum traction on a variety of surfaces.
