All over the country, Escape the Room is giving puzzle-lovers a challenge unlike anything else. The closest to our location in Marquette is Escape the Room Detroit, currently running an archeological-adventure-themed game, and a spy-agency theme.

Escape rooms may have many different themes, but the idea is always the same: players are locked in a room, and have one hour to solve the clues that will unlock the door.

This year, Ford Motor Company teamed up with Escape the Room NYC to create a driving-themed game -- the largest and first drivable room-escape game ever made!

Players must navigate the hassles of Manhattan traffic using the sophisticated technology features of the new Ford Escape in order to advance through scenes and levels. It's a little gimmicky -- Ford experiential marketing manager Ginger Kasanic even calls it "a unique spin on the traditional test drive" -- but the one-weekend-only event sold out within 24 hours of being announced.

"Ford asked if I'd be up for integrating the new Escape into an Escape the Room game, and the end result is unlike anything I've created before," says puzzle-master extraordinaire, Victor Blake. "The SUV is packed with tons of advanced technology, and it was an entertaining exercise to integrate things like ultrasonic parking sensors into the puzzles and clues that are iconic to the game."

Overall, it sounds like everyone had a fun weekend playing through this unique theme, and Ford got a ton of people behind the wheel of one of their most popular crossover SUVs. Speaking of which, come down to Fox Marquette to test drive new Ford vehicles and learn more about their ever-improving tech features.
