Last month, Ford's President & CEO took the stage at the Consumer Electronics Show to talk about the next few years.
One of Ford's biggest announcements is a $4.5 billion investment in electric development. This will fund researching ways to make better batteries, and adding a whopping 13 new electric vehicles to the Ford lineup by 2020.
Ford is also looking to get a slice of the $5.4 trillion pie that is the transportation services industry. Ford Smart Mobility will key in on modern urban transportation needs by experimenting with car-sharing programs, flexible ownership, and more.
Autonomous cars are high on everybody's mind this year. Ford is currently testing 30 self-driving Ford Fusion Hybrids in California, Arizona, and our home state of Michigan.
Finally, Ford is upping its infotainment game. The old MyFord Touch is out, and the new SYNC 3 will be rolling out on new vehicles this year.
